We will use Distributed Systems by Tannenbaum and Van Steen as a Distributed Operating Systems (1994) Distributed Systems: Principles and Paradigms, co-authored with Maarten van Steen 2 (2001) His book, Operating Systems: Design and Implementation and MINIX were Linus Torvalds ' inspiration for the Linux kernel.
